I am one of the few to have all three weigh loss procedures. I had lab band in 2010 and it was awful. I had no quality of life and couldn't keep any food down. In 2012 I got a revision from lab band to sleeve and received a botched sleeved. My stomach was never shaped like a banana. My sleeve was more like a light bulb but extremely narrow at the bottom. I could eat anything with my sleeve. I didn't have restrictions at all. With the sleeve and lab band I work very hard and lost between 12-20 lbs. For a couple of years I have up and got up to 268lbs. So January 11, 2015 I decided I was going to do what it takes to get the weight off. I went to see Dr. FRENZEL and I was 265. He told me he needed to do an egd to see how my stomach looked. That's when we found out about the large pouch at the top of my sleeve. Dr. Frenzel and i decided I should have got a bypass from the start and i decided to get a revision. In the mean time I continued to work out and I redid everything required to get insurance approval. My weight before the pre op diet was 242. At the hospital May 14,2015, the day of surgery I was 231.6. After surgery I woke up in pain. I was so sick and vomit all night.I really regret having this revision. I kept think whatdid you do. I finally had the strength to walk and I noticed my incisions was leaking. Blood was soaking through my gown and on the floor. The nurses at Forrest Park are awsome. They assured me every was find and put a bandage on the wound. I have now gotten over my regret it and I feel better about my decision. I'm excited to see what the future hold.
