Kristin Stueber

"i liked dr stueber. she is a soft spoken woman with an easy smile. there is nothing more than being totally naked in front of other people, to make a person feel vulnerable & uncomfortable, yet, in front of dr stueber & with her 'hands on' examination of my body, i did not feel uncomfortable at all or even ashamed of my body. her office staff is very nice & her waiting room is nicely decorated & quite comfortable. what i appreciated the most about her was, she did not try to convince me or talk me into having any more surgery than i was asking her for. i told her what i wanted & she explained how she would do it & what the results would be."

Eladio Carrera

"Dr Carrera is very concerned about his patients. I find him to be very wls friendly & very knowledgeable about wls & its effects on ur body & health. "

Alan Newhoff

"my first impression when he started talking was that he sounded somewhat arrogant, because he immediately told us not to ask questions or make comments until he was done speaking & asked if we had questions. as he continued talking my impression changed dramatically. he is not arrogant at all. he was very informative & has quite a sense of humor as he had us laffing more than a few times. his office staff, especially, cindy, seem to be very competent & friendly. i really didnt find anything about him that i didnt like. future patients need to know that he seems quite dedicated to his patients, their surgery & their after care. the nursing staff at the hospital r afraid of him because he makes u get up 2 hours after surgery to walk & then every hour & at nite every 2 hours. he is adamant about this & the nurses follow his dictate to the letter for fear of crossing him. he insists that u be a non-smoker at least 1 month before the surgery. he also insists that u start a walking program right away. he has a support group that he requires u attend but since i am from out of town it is ok if i attend the dr fobi support group here. he is very good friends with dr fobi & they often consult with each other on technique. he was very blatant about the risks of surgery & made no bones about them nor did he try to whitewash them. he has performed over 3000 open rny's & has a 0% mortality rate & less than 1% complication rate. i would rate him an 8 on a scale of 1-10, only because i didnt have a one on one visit with him. i didnt really pick up anything negative about him. he even eats his meals the same way he expects his patients to eat their meals. i got the distinct impression that he has a wonderful bedside manner & that his surgical competence is far above many. i of course prefer surgical competence over a bedside manner but getting both is great! DEC 23 2002 5 days post op & i knew dr newhoff was the surgeon for me!! god bless his hands so that he can continue to help others & save their lives as he has saved mine. March 4 2002 my 6 week check up was scheduled for feb 8 2002. we were in florida at the time, meeting our very first grandchild who was born on 1/28. i called dr newhoff's office & explained to cindi, his office manager, why i had to cancel the appt. she took my hotel phone number, arranged a time for dr newhoff to call me & dr newhoff & i had a 6 week visit over the telephone. when i tell people this, most r shocked that dr newhoff took the time to do this. i wasnt even surprised that he did it because this is the kind of man/dr he is...caring, sensitive, compassionate & totally concerned about his patients. "

Cres Miranda JR

"Dr Miranda is a very thoughtful, sensitive & compassionate man. he also looks like a little boy! lol. he is a very warm (& i find loving) dr. when i told him i wanted wls he immediately ordered cardiac testing for me that ranged from a simple cardiogram to an angiogram. he said if every test i had came back satisfactory, he would clear me for surgery. the last test i had was the angiogram & i was sedated for it. when the test was finished he woke me up & with a face splitting grin, he said 'u can have ur surgery!' when my honey has an appt with him, he enters the room & i am the first one he talks to. lol. he gives the best hugs! his nurse debbie is one of the most fantastic office nurses i have come across in a long time. his staff is caring & sensitive & do whatever is in their power to help u. he has great 'connections' to other drs in other specialties & is not afraid to tell u...i want u to see this dr. he is honest & straightforward & when he has to tell u something he would rather not tell u, his compassion shows in his face. aside from his medical expertise i have to tell what impressed me the most about him...he took his parents on a second honeymoon. lol. "

Steven Winkler

"Dr Winkler is a very caring, sensitive & compassionate man. he shares ur joys, sorrows, ups & downs. if u ask him for the absolute truth he gives it to u, even if it hurts him to do so. i know this first hand because he was the only one of my honey's drs that confirmed our suspicions of cancer without beating around the bush. the look on his face when i asked for his absolute honesty made ME feel bad for HIM. when i told him i wanted wls he couldnt have been happier for me & told me 'i will take very very good care of u'. he has kept his promise. his nurse lisa is the best office nurse i have come across in a very long time. the rest of his staff is made up of wonderful caring people.
