Lap Band removal

Was banded on 12--30-10 and have had multiple complications.  While having an EGD to see if an ulcer had healed, I was found to have a pocket of infection inside my stomach where the band was wrapped around the fundus.  So, on 8-23-10, I had the band removed. I'm not ruling out any other surgical tools, but I will NOT consider the band again.  I just had too many problems with it.  I can't do anything for at least 6 months, to allow my stomach to heal.  I never was able to tolerate any fills, and spent most of the time completely unfilled.  Even without saline in the band, I had a lot of restriction.  I'll see how it goes now without any surgical tool to help me.
