Hi all,

This is my story, I have been over weight most of my life.  I was the average girl as a child and a young youth.  At 16 is when I started to gain weight.  Most of the people in my family are full figured people.  So I really didn't have much chance.  I started this wls journey when I had an appointment with my GYN during my yearly exam.  We were talking about my weight and how it has increased over the years.  ( also after having three children).  I shared with her that I want to loose weight but it is hard for me to keep it off.  My Dr. referred me to one of the other Dr. in the same practice because he was doing a program where he supervises people with weight loss by taking this type of medication.  So, I started seeing him every month and was doing well for the first 4 months. I lost 25 pounds and then after 6 months you have to take a break from the medication.  When I took the break off of the medication I regained 15 pounds of it.  My Dr. said that maybe I needed to take a more aggressive approach to weight loss.  That's when I really began to research the different types of surgery and decided that was a good plan for me.  I had thought about weight loss surgery before but didn't think my insurance would cover it.  Well to my surprise they do cover the surgery.  I was so happy and I really got serious about the surgery.
