5 years post op UPDATE.
Jun 12, 2009
Hi guys. Here's my update.
Today I'm at 154 lbs. I've gained some weight this past year. I'd like to lose a few pounds but right now I am more concerned about all of my deficiencies. My B-12 is 400, Iron 22, Ferratin 2, Hemoglobin 8.6, Saturation 5%.
I am exhausted all the time. Hair loss continues. I'm surprised I am not bald! I hate being tired all the time. I will be seeing a Hematologist next week, I'm hoping this will help although the thought of having Iron Infusion scares the hell out of me.
I'm still trying to pass the bar exam. I have a lot of difficulty with memory and concentration. I also suffer from hypoglycemia. I'm still happy that I had the surgery. I just wish that I would have been consistent with my commitment with my surgeon to take all of my supplements as he warned me I would need to do.
I want anyone that see's my post that is thinking of having this surgery to take this one lesson from me today. DO NOT DO THE SURGERY IF YOU ARE NOT COMMITTED AND CONSCIOUS about taking all of the supplements that you are told to take. The first few years you will not notice any major deficiencies but if you don't do what you are told, they will creep up on you and you will suffer through it.
If anyone has any questions please write.
