I am hoping to be accepted as a candidate for bariatric surgery. My Doctor has sent in the paperwork and I am waiting to hear back from the review board. It may take 3 or 4 months before they send me a letter back. I am researching the pros and cons of surgery. At first I was unsure of taking such a drastic step but the more I learn the more optimistic I become about the whole process. I weight 285 lbs. I am able to lose the same 40 lbs. over and over again but I am unable to lose 150 lbs. on my own. I've been on many diets that were recommended by my doctor but they didn't work for me. I need help and a smaller stomach would be a good start. I really think I could make the surgery work for me.
