My surgery is scheduled for December 20, 2005. I am so excited and scared at the same time. My diabetes is really acting up lately and that is the main reason I decided to have surgery. My husband is in the Air Force and on active duty so my insurance is Tricare Prime and it went really well. The only thing I had to call them about was to get a new referral. It took me so long to get my appointments with the surgeon that my referral expired. Also, please make sure that when you get your initial referral that it says evaluate & TREAT, not just evaluate. That is the only thing that I had to do and it was very easy. I had lots and lots of medical history. My surgeon is actually going to be Dr. Baker at MUSC, not Dr. Byrne, she is one of Dr. Byrne's Associates. I really feel comfortable with Dr. Baker.
