I don't know about right after wls. But, a year after my wls,
I had stablizied but I still had (...and have) thirty pounds to go
to reach my goal. I eat right and I workout but I'm just not losing
anymore weight. I asked about appetite suppressants as a way of helping
me keep hunger at bay so that I can cut my carb consumption back to
40 grams a day. He said "no problem" for a limited time
period...not to
exceed three months. He thought it was an excellent idea that would
work perfectly for me. I never did do it....but I'm definitely going
to ask for an rx when I have my yearly with him in Nov. Also, I attended
a meeting where Dr. Blackburn spoke a while back and this subject came up.
He indicated that medication was an option for people like me who have
stabilized...but need a little help to complete the job.

I did not need anything, but if I did or would I would get a perscritption
medication. You know nothing over the counter is effective. If it were whe
would probably all not need the surgery. Ask your doctor.
