Question:
How many calories should I be eating at 10mos post op?

I had an appointment with my doctor the other day and he said I should be eating between 500 and 600 calories per day and when I'm ready to maintain my weight, move to 1000-1200. I started at 249 and now I'm 153. I exercise almost daily for at least 30 minutes, usually 45. I just can't believe that I'm still supposed to be consuming so little. I can eat more now (still not a lot, but significantly more than right after surgery) and with my exercise, I was just wondering if this is right? Any advice would be helpful!! Thanks.    — Amy E. At 10 months post-op, I was eating about 1,000 cal/day and still losing. I am now 15 months post-op and eat about 1200-1500 cal/day. Don't worry - you're doing fine. T

At 4 1/2 months out, I am eating about 1000 calories a day. Are you satisfied with eating 5-600? If not, up it some. I started out at your exact weight too! I hope to end up where you are now. Congrats!!
