Question:
I would love to hear from anyone who has had the Lap-Band surgery.

My surgeon is recommending the lap-band because of a surgery I had a few years ago, he feels it would be safer for me. I would love to hear from anyone who's had this done and what your weight loss progress has been like, if you've suffered any complications, has your diabetes (if diabetic) gotten better since the surgery and if anyone has had to have the surgery reversed. Oh and what was your experience with the insurance company? I know many ins. co. do not cover this surgery because they feel it's experimental. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Belinda, I had the band 4 months ago and have lost about 60 lbs. It's been really easy and the recovery from the surgery was very quick. My insurance (Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Federal) paid 100% without a fight. E-mail if I can help.
