Question:
Has anyone been told to discontinue Vitamin E before surgery?

I asked this question earlier, it never showed up, I don't know why.. has anyone been told to "discontinue" vitamin E prior to surgery because it asks as a blood thinner and prevents clotting???    — cheri123 (posted on October 6, 2002)

Definitely! Usually you are told to stop taking Vitamin E 2 weeks before surgery because it works to act as a blood thinner.

I was also told to stop taking my Vitamin E before surgery. It thins the blood too much.
