Question:
Just found I out I will be moving out of state 6 weeks post-op...

I am scheduled for surgery in early July, and I will be transferred for my job, out of state in late August or early September. I realize this is not ideal as I would prefer to be under the doctor's care much longer. However, I also don't think it will be ideal to be all alone in a strange city having the surgery if I wait until I get there. Considering there are no complications, for most of you, would you say that you're pretty much o.k. 6-8 weeks post op? Any other comments on this?    — Stamper B. (posted on June 19, 2003)

Just make sure that you are not doing the lifting or the packing of your household by yourself. I met someone who moved within weeks of their WLS and they developed numerous hernias and associated problems because she was forced to pack and move herself as she lived alone. Be Careful with your body.
