Question:
I am 2 months out from a lap RNY and I have begun to have pain on my left side

I went bowling for the first time on Saturday and I don't know if that might have anything to do with the pain. But it fills like a dull pain constantly and hurts a little more after I eat. I am having no trouble keeping foods down or anything else. Just the pain on the left side below my ribs.    — KittyKatt (posted on January 21, 2004)

I am now 6 weeks post op and I got sat in my car too fast and I had pain on my left side under my ribs for almost 2 weeks...finally it went away. I figured I pulled the stomach muscle. If it continues call your doctor.

I am 3 mnths post-op and this has happened to me off and on since surgery,I noticed that if I up my fluids, even though it hurts like hell to eat or drink when this happens it subsides within about 24 hrs.I have brought this up to my doc and she said if it last longer than 1 day to come and see her.She also said it could be trapped gas.

Don't forget, during surgery, a lot of stuff gets pulled and re-arranged. I'd lay odds with the bowling you probably pulled something . . . . just keep an eye on it, and if it continues or gets worse, definately run it by your doctor.

I had that pain after 3 months. I had picked up my neice. It lasted for about a week. About a month later, my surgeon noticed I had a small hernia.
