Question:
Has anyone had kidney failure following wls.

I am thirteen months post op and my kidney stopped functioning after I had my surgery. Does anyone with kidney problems have a difficult time choosing their daily water and protein intake; and does the kidneys not functioning interferes with the amount of weight a person can lose because the body is unable to flush waste materials properly?    — freddyt.30 (posted on April 19, 2005)

Freddy, I don't understand.........did both kidney's stop functioning? Are you on dialysis? Did you get a kidney transplant? I don't see how you could live without at least one kidney functioning but I'm not an expert. I checked your profile and it looked like you've lost a BUNCH of weight so I'm not sure I understand your question.
