Question:
Has anyone ever used Dr. Rout? He's not on ANY list I have checked!! HELP!!

I'm really scared to use this doctor, he is very blunt when he speaks, and very ridged. But the state (Vocational Rehab) is paying for it, and he's the only "vendor" they have for this proceedure.    — ladydi1970 (posted on August 30, 1999)

Sorry, do not know anything about your Doctor in question. But do you know about Dr. Murr in Tampa. You are a lot closer to Tampa then Gainesville. Dr. Murr works out of Tampa General. His patients like him very much. I am going for my operation 10/29/99. There is a monthly support group meeting which meets the fourth Tuesday of every month. I just had my first consult with Dr. Rout. I think he seems to be very competent. Most seem to think that his bedside manner is not very good, but that is something that doesn't really concern me, but for someone else that may be important. I have spoken to someone that had him as a surgeon, and felt the same way you do, but was happy with the results.

I have Dr. Rout and my surgery is scheduled for 3/16/00. He was very informative when I saw him for the consultation and answered all my questions. I had my 13 year old daughter with me and he answered her questions and gave her good advice. She is not overweight yet but could be very easily. I consider the fact that he is associated with Shand's Hospital, which is very good. It isn't him I will be spending the most time with, that's the nurses, as long as he does a good job bedside manner doesn't count.

I have seen Dr. Rout and thought he was very nice. He was not "dry" as I'd previously been informed and I was very happy with his personality and demeanor. I highly recommend him.
