Question:
Oxfoord Freedom plan coverage for plastic surgery????

I have Oxford Freedom Plan and am looking into reconstructive plastic surgery. If you the same please share with me which procedures you applied for and if they were approved or not. I need this info as soon as possible..THANKS!!!    — Lynne K. (posted on February 20, 2001)

Hi, I also have Oxford Freedom Plan and have GHI secondary from my husband. If you have any success with Oxford and reconstructive surgery I'd love to know. I don't think I'll be ready until Summer 2004. Good luck!

I am in the process of trying to get approved for breast reduction and panniculectomy/abdominoplasty for July 2003. I submitted letters of medical necessity from three orthopedic surgeons and my gastric bypass doctor and I am waiting for the answer. Should have an answer by the end of April. I will let you know.

I recently was rejected by Oxford for an abdominoplasty and hernia repair - they considered it "not medically necessary". I'm in the process of appealing it, though.

I was approved for Abdominplasty and breast reduction on May 21. My surgery is scheduled for July 3rd. I a, extremely happy and my back is feeling better just thinking about it. I have oxford freedom select.
