Question:
Has anyone taken valtrax or any other medication to control outbreaks of Herpes?

I am so glad you posted this question. I just found out last week that I
have that. I started to take the valtex for it. I am waiting for a call
from my doctor to tell me if because of the malabosobtion, am I going to
have to take double dosed of this medicine or for twice as long.

I also have been blessed with this condition. : ( Before surgery I was
taking 500mg of valtrex per day for suppression of outbreaks. It works VERY
well. After surgery my internist put me on the liquid form of zovirax,
400mg a day. I guess he did this because the liquid is easier to take while
my new stomach is adjusting. After my prescription runs out, I will be back
on the valtrex tablets, and theyre like horse pills. I wonder how I will
manage with them, but, Im sure it will be just fine if I break them in
half. Good luck!
