Question:
Can anyone help me with questions about Dr. Printen, in IL?

Hi! I'm actually now researching local surgeons. I've been approved. I want to know what methods are used during your surgery with Dr. Printen. Did you have staples or stitches and an ng tube? im dr printens,,patient,,last consult coming up soon,,,wonderfull dr,,great bed-side manner,,talks to u like ur a human being,,know whats hes talking about and explains everything in great detail..bring someone with u,,the more ears the better

Hi, I am scheduled to have my surgery with Dr. Printen on Monday the 23rd. I really liked his laid back casual manner....excuse my expression but I have been to many Doctor's who act like they "have a stick up their ass!" So prim and proper and know it all. He takes his time and answers every queation - never letting on that he has been asked these questions thousands of times before. He sends out an informative book before your first consoltation...then has you back 3 weeks later for a second visit....thn surgery is scheduled about 1 month after that. The only pre op testing I needed was blood work, chest x-ray and an Ekg....took about 1 hour. You are in the hospital an avg. of 4 days...they put the NG tube in when you are asleep and it comes out about the 2nd day. He uses staples which usually come out at you follow up appt. There is a newly formed ( last month was the 1st meeting) support group at St. Francis - follow the signs from the main desk....that meets the last Thursday of the month. so it will be on the 27th from 7PM - 9PM....anyone pre, post, just curious, froends and family are welcome to attend. Last month there were about 14 of us...split between pre - post op....it was so nice and casual yet very informative....if I am not too out of it from Mondays surgery I may make an appearance!
