I have chosen Dr. V. Wongsa to do my surgery, He is in the Champion
Forrest area. However, he only does LAP, I have talked w/ several of his
patients and they have said nothing
but good stuff about him. He is a LAP surgeon and does other types of
surgery ( non WL)using the LAP.
I did a lot of research. Also I hear NewWeigh is very good, but they have
a long waiting list. I did not want to

Hi!
I had WLS almost 5 months ago. I am in the Austin area but drove to
Houston for Dr. Wongsa. He is great!!! He does the Lap RNY. My scars are
tiny and I have lost 85 lbs. so far. He also doesn't go for that liquid
diet crap. He is purely for the protein and has you on solid foods before
you leave the hospital. I went in on a monday morn and was supposed to
leave Wednesday, but I felt so good he let me leave Tuesday nite upon my
request. He's a wonderful man who loves his patients!

I had an open VBG with Dr. Ira Kasper here in Houston on 03-27-01, and have
lost 72lbs. to date. I think he is a wonderful surgeon, and he leaves a
nice little 4 inch scar with no staples to boot. We are having a support
group meeting on Tuesday August 21st at his office (it is for post-ops and

I also used Dr. Voravit Wongsa. I am four weeks post op and i have lost 42
pounds. He did Lap RNY, I was in the hospital for two days and I went back
to all normal routine things one week later. Best wishes for you. I am
sorry for the loss of your mother, But I am glad you are using this as a
way to change yourself for your kids. I am proud of you!!! Hugs to you and

Dr. Frank Moody with Hermann is still accepting patients and is a wonderful
man. I have not yet had surgery but that is only because of my school
schedule. He is very willing to work with ppl.

I went through Neweigh in Houston. It sounds to me like you could use a
little support. Neweigh has great support group meetings every week. They
handle all the insurance crap for you. Pretty much, you just show up to the
office and they take care of it from there. My surgery was performed by Dr.
Carlos Ferrarri. There is another doctor in that practice as well. In case
you would like to call them, the number is 713 795 0200. Whoever you end up
with, I really recommend choosing a doctor or group with good support and
counseling.

My name is Jeff and I had my operation done a year and a half ago. I
started at 436 and have lost 185 pounds since. It was worth it and I am so
happy. I had mine done at North West Herman Memorial in Houston. The
