First, congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so exciting. What you are feeling is totaly normal. For me, before approval I was all about having RNY and nothing was going to stop me. As soon as I got my date, I was so pretty scared. If you are not at least a little nervous than I think you would be lying to yourself. Once again congrats, enjoy this amazing ride!

This is perfectly normal... I was instructed thru my entire process not to do it unless I was 100% sure. As I ventured thru the rigorous program that my surgeon requires I became more and more sure of what I was doing. I had RNY 12/09 and would do it again in a heart beat, but that's just my opinion. Good luck :) ~live as if all your dreams came true~

You go, girl! I'm 3 years post op and couldn't be happier that I made the decision. Most people do not have complications. I was one of the lucky ones who had very little pain but I do have excess skin. That's OK because I'm happier without the weight. Good luck to you. You made the right decision.

Hi Angel! I just passed my 1 year "surgiversary" and I couldn't be happier if I was a pig rolling in mud! I have lost 140 pounds and am below my surgeon's goal for me of 170 pounds - 8 more pounds to go to get to my own goal of 160. I've gone from a size 28 pants to a size 10 designer jeans that my daughter gave me, and I've got a size 8 waiting in the closet <grin>. I hit a couple of bumps in the road during the first 3 months (a plateau caused by a stricture - which took about 15 minutes to fix)....but since then, it's been clear sailing. I am also one of the lucky ones who didn't have much pain. Heck, on the way home from the hospital, we stopped and went shopping! In fact, I went shopping nearly every day, because I was having a lot of drainage from one of the laparoscopic incision sites, and I kept having to get more dressings (but it wasn't painful). You'll do fine...like another poster said, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

I starter the process in 12/2009 as well. My date is April 20th (3 weeks from today). I know exactly what you are feeling. I wake up at night some times wondering what the heck I am doing. Then when the alarm goes off - I feel like I wish it was today. I start my liquid high protein diet soon. I think it is normal from what I have read from others and no you are not alone. We are almost at the beginning of our NEW LIFE!!!
