Question:
anyone taking depakote?

I was taking depakote pill, but will be having rny 4/5 and my physician has switched me to the liquid form...has anyone taken this medication post op? wondering if there was any irritation to the stomach for you ~Tiffany    — tiffany E. (posted on February 25, 2006)

Hey Tiffany: I was on depakote, 1500mg, before my surgery. I now am on 2000mg. I have had no problem with the pills. I think you will be fine. Good luck, Judy

Hi there. I was taking 1500 mg Depakote before surgery. My surgeon rather shortsightedly took me off all my psychotropics. I nearly ended up back in the hospital after a week, but in a different ward. In the end, I took 1500 mg of sprinkles, usually used for children. This was difficult, but doable. After a month, I was allowed back on my regular meds, and am doing fine.

yes , like you i have am taking tegertol and topmax before and after surgery . well i had to crush them in yogurt and mix them in real good . but before i did that i really bother my tummy if you like to talk just write back
