Having a personal trainer and increasing your work outs is great but, what you eat should be left up to your doctor and what you have been told is the right thing for you after having had WLS. If you start eating 5 meals a day that would become a habit that would be difficult to break later on. I wouldn't do it if I were you. Good luck!

Hi, that means your personal trainer wants you to eat "3 FULL MEALS ei, Breakfast, lunch and dinner" and "2 snacks, ei, a serving of fruit, or serving of veggies" that its not a bad habit to get into, its a great way to re-train yourself to eat the right amounts of foods at the right times of day.. what you MUST REMEMBER is that your stomach is not that of a regular person. it is a 1/4 of that size... and even though you are on the right path of exersizing you NEED TO DO IT RIGHT OR YOU CAN HARM YOURSELF.... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS FALLOW YOUR DOCTORS INSTRUCTIONS...ALWAYS HE KNOWS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR YOU....take the information that your personal trainer gave you and talk it over with our Dr. he will most probably adjust it to your needs. You lost 70 lbs already that is great...REMEMBER THAT WAS 70 LBS THAT BEFORE THE SURGERY YOU COULDN'T LOOSE ANYWAY AND NOW YOU DID...DONT RUSH INTO LOOSING ALL OF THE WEIGHT YOU HAVE BEEN CARRYING AROUND BEFORE THE SURGERY SO QUICKLY...BABY STEPS ARE THE SAFEST WAY TO GO....DONT OVER DO IT... Good Luck....

As you get farther out from post op, you will need to maintain a steady calorie level in order to maintain your weight. If you aren't eating enough, you will continue to lose weight and start looking "ill" However maintaining a 1200 calorie diet is hard when your stomach is the size of a golf ball. So I do eat more than three meals, per se, I snack throughout the day, however, it is on things like cottage cheese, yogurt, trial mix, but not a full meal. Some will say don't graze, but you can't maintain a healthy weight and stay within your calorie range. As you are closer to 1 yr post op is when that really matters. You might not be losing pounds anymore, you might be losing inches, which won't show up on the scale. This is something that needs to be monitored with a measuring tape, and your clothes by how they fit. Don't focus so much on what the scale reads, it is only a number. If you have a personal trainer, and working out then your body will require the extra 2 small meals to use as fuel which is converted into engery for that workout. A meal now doesn't consist of a 5 course buffet, so it could mean a slice of protein meat and a package of string cheese. So best wishes to you.
