Question:
Should I consider a revision?

I had surgery in March 2002 and lost 80 pounds. I became pregnant in July 2002 though I was using birth control. I had a baby boy in March 2003, who is doing just great. I lost some weight during my pregnancy but not more than 2-3 pounds at one time. After his birth, I lost 17 pounds but I can't seem to lose any weight. In fact, I seem to be gaining weight. I have an appointment to see my surgeon on Friday to talk about this and some stomach irritation that I am having now that the pregnancy is over. I've also had some pains in my lower abdomen. Just wondering if I should talk to them about a revision? Any thoughts? Suggestions?    — HR M. (posted on June 4, 2003)

I don't think the docs will do a revision unless there is a problem with your surgery like a staple line disruption. They can do tests and check for this if you are gaining weight.
