Question:
HOW TO MAINTAIN GOAL WEIGHT

THIS MAY BE A DUMB QUESTION BUT ONCE YOU GET TO YOUR GOAL WEIGHT HOW DO YOU STOP LOSING WEIGHT OR HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN THAT WEIGHT?    — DPURNELL (posted on April 2, 2008)

I just stopped losing. Then about 2 years later I slowly put on 15 pounds. I look much better at this weight and have been this weight for the past 2 1/2 years. I wear a size 8 and I am 5'4". I used to wear a 20. If you are a grazer you can put back on the weight so you have to be careful what you snack on and how often.

Your body just stops losing. i stareted at 274 I am now 133 and have been that way for over 3 yrs now. I gain about 3 LBS then lose it. Its not a dumb question at all. Its a very logical question. I wondered the same thing a couple yrs ago but I have maintained my weight now and I will never go back to being big again.

I'll be honest with you Danielle. I am 4 years out, and I fought like a dog to lose all my weight the first year or two, exercised like crazy and did all the right stuff. The last two years I have had real problems with surgery and people dying in my family and exercise has gone by the wayside, but my weight is still the same (with 7 pounds). I think if you fight hard to change habits and exercise early on that it pays off for years to come. If you ever expect surgery to do the "trick" for you, you are setting yourself up for failure from the beginning. Take this opportunity to lose weight, change your life and change it for good. The weight will stay off and you will be glad. Take care. Patricia P.

You follow the rules that you followed to lose weight...Once that weight stops, if you weren't following those rules, you better start or you will gain...That means...no drinking with meals, limit sugar and bad carbs...protein first, take your supplements to stay healthy, drink your 64 + oz of water between meals....exercise and know what 7-10 oz of food looks like...(NEVER eat more than that) Watch your weight and get busy if you gain more than 3 lbs...Eat til you are satisfied and not full. That's basically it...(Everything bad for you...do in moderation only) Don't start bad habits...
