INFORMATION ON DR. BRIAN BOE FROM BTC IN BELVIDERE, IL PLEASE.

I HAVE heard of Dr. Boe, and I didn't like what I'd heard.
I spoke recently with someone who had a consultation with him,
and did not like him at all. She said he was rude, snippy and
no help at all in answering her questions. She said she'd
hate to see what he was like with a knife! Also that he is
very new to BTC. This, of course, is an opinion, and others
may have a different view.

I had surgery at BTC in January with Dr. Schlesinger and am
a local girl, so I weigh there occaisionally, as well as go
to support group meetings there. I also try and visit people
I meet here on line who come in and have surgery, especially
if they are from out of town. I have visited patients of his
and haven't heard anything bad about him. However, I haven't
talked to vey many people, and I haven't had 1st hand experience
with him, so I hope you hear from people who have had experience
with him as they would be a better source of information. If

Hi,,I had my first consultation on 6/19 at BTC in Belvidere Ill. with Dr.
Brian Boe. He seemed to me to be very professional,reserved and answered
all my questions. He also seemed impressed that I had brought and knew so
much info on the surgery. I had went there hoping to discuss with him the
various TYPES of surgeries but he stated that BTC only does RNY proximal. I
left feeling that this was the only type that I had a choice of having done
at BTC. It was only after returning from my 4 hour trip home and getting
back on the WLS site, that I read that other people who had had surgery at
BTC using other surgeons there, were able to have the other TYPES of
surgeries...IS RNY PROXIMAL THE ONLY TYPE SURGERY DR. BOE PERFORMS???

I had a consultation with him in May, I along with my husband
thought he was wonderful. He took time to talk too both of us
about the surgery and took the extra time to listen to my
husbands questions and gave answered that he could understand.
Dr. Boe has a GREAT personality and that is a big asset to the medical
field, now days Doctors do not show their true personalities.
He made us both feel very comfortable about our choice
in this surgery.

Dr. Boe is my surgeon. He was very informative and open to questions
during my initial consultation. He has a pleasant somewhat reserved
personality and doesn't exhibit the defensiveness that one sometimes sees
in doctors whose patients are as full of questions as I was. I have no
complaints able my surgery. I was off all pain medication within six days
and my incision has healed nicely. I've had to problems related to the
surgery. My difficulties have been relearning to eat. I have seen Dr. Boe
for both my two-week and six-week follow-up visits and found that he asked
the questions that needed to be asked and again answered all the question I
had. I would recommend Dr. Boe and the Belvidere BTC to anyone who asked.
The staff there took very good care of me.
