Question:
I have Aetna POS what does it mean by 3 month program before being preapproved

You need to ask Aetna. If someone from this board tells you what it means
and they're wrong, then in three months you still won't be approved. All
insurance companies are different...even the same insurance company from
one person to another can be different as I've found they can change
they're "rules" anytime they wish.
Get the information, in exact detail, from Aetna and then proceed and keep
good notes.

We had Aetna POS and it took my husband had 2 1/2 years to be approved and
I was denied. I later went to another Doctor and was approved. It took me
3 months to be approved and I had my surgery 2 months later. Like the
previous post said, calling Aetna would be your best bet. I also think
ther Doctor you go with has a lot to do with approval. Good Luck!

You need to call Aetna. I also have them, but that being said, all plans
are different. I had to do a 3-month multi-disciplinary program and was
approved after my 3rd dietary visit. Make sure you get the name and title
of everyone that you speak with. Good luck. Paula Chumbley

I have Aetna and I had to attend weight loss classes (provided by the
doctors office) for three months. I think (opinion only) that it was to
prove that I had been educated in what would be required of me after
surgery and to prove that I was commited to my surgery. Once I had
completed my classes it took 7 days for my approval to come through.

Oh one more thing I have an EPO through Aetna, not POS. I am not sure what
the difference is. Your best bet would be to call Aetna and ask them.

I have aetna POS and it means that it takes 3 months from the time u see
the surgeon the first time to submit ur request for approval..90 days to
the day.
