Question:
Has anyone had this surgery under Medical Mutual Supermed Plus?

EACH POLICEY IS DIFFERENT. I have MMO SuperMed and had and was approved in a few weeks. For me they were very easy to deal with. I called and found out what MY POLICY stated. Ask what is MED NESS for them. Sent in all the paper work and was approved. They paid for all the pre op and surgery. I paied my under $500 out of pocket for the whole thing.

I also have MMO SuperMed Plus, and had a generally good experience with them. There were lots of things I had to get done--a psych evaluation, visit to a dietitian, approval from my PCP, a stress test, etc....and I my Bariatric Treatment Center (now Barix) staff took care of all the paperwork for me and all the dealings with the insurance company. After all the paperwork was submitted, I was approved within a few weeks. Persistance is the key!
