To me it sounds like gas. Next time take some gas X.

Do you still have your gall bladder? Either way, seeing the doctor is your best option. My gall bladder flared up pretty bad after and before my surgery. It is pretty common to need it removed after an RNY.

Hello - it does sound like your gallbladder. The same thing happened to me, I ended up having to have it removed. I would definitely have that checked.

Hi I had it on the right side sometimes in the middle near the breast bone. If I don't take gas x and an anti acid (chewable) right away I'm in for alot of pain. I breifly spoke to my Dr about it she said sounds like gas probably got from the alcohol sugar in the sugar free candy... Sometimes it also happens after I eat SF ice cream but not all the time. Kind of notice what you have eaten that day and certainly tell your Dr. about it. I don't have a gall bladder had it remove way before I had WLS. Best of Luck

I had it on my right side, and it turned out to be a impact in my small intestine that passed. It wsas just after I went on solid foods. I guess the liquid slipped through but the solid food backed up a little. They told me that it was like a kink that did not work its way out after surgery until I got to solid foods that stuck. They though it was my apendex, and as someone suggested, the other thought was gall blatter failure. IF you get the pain again, go to the hospital where you had your surgery, if too far, then get to a doctor. I wated two days, and my doctor told me to call in the middle of th enight, but don't try to wait out pain that you have not experenced before.

Yeah...3 weeks ago as a matter of fact. Turned out to be my gallbladder. I had it removed on 03/06/08. If it keeps up and is constant, get it checked out.

It can be something simple like gas but if it is really painful and if you are vomiting it could be a bowel obstruction. Once we have these surgeries our bodies are never normal again. I would see my surgeon but that is me. Hope you feel better.

I had or still get a pain like that. It is just to the right of my incision, open RNY. It hurts all day and feels better when I lay down. The doctor said I was pulling a muscle. I work in daycare and sure enough, when I don't lift the kids it doesn't hurt.

Any pain that is that severe should be reported to your Dr. and investigated. Next time it happens and you can't get over it immediately with something like gasX you need to go and see about it right away. Our bodies have been changed and there are a lot of things that can go wrong inside there. Blockages, Gallbladers that don't work properly anymore, etc. Take good care of yourself for yourself and your husband. Good luck and Glod Bless, Norma

Hi Gallbladder, go to your doctor I had the same thing the first time they didn't catch it and I ended up in the hospital. Even if you had your gallbladder removed they could have missed a stone. Your husband is right though if you Doctor isn't in always go to the Hospital when the pain is bad your body is telling you something isn't right and it could be a hernia that you ignored, that would not be good. Take care, Anna
