Question:
Do you have Kaiser?

I just received a call from Kaiser saying I was #6 on my dr.s list and would have it sometime in Sept. My question is if I'm #6 does that mean for the month of Sept. or #on his whole list, and can you tell me what I can exspect. I really excited    — humper (posted on July 16, 2008)

I have Kaiser, but could you please tell me where you are. I am in California. I don't mind sharing my experience w/ Kaiser, but I don't know if we are going through the same program. Andrea

I think the best way for you to know what #6 means is to call your doctor's office and ask them. Then you know for sure...rather than having someone from here guess for you. Good luck....I'm 6 months out and was so excited as well when I was in your place. I've lost about 85 lbs. now.

I also have KAiser, and I do not know if I too are going through the same type of program; Kaiser of South San Francisco program for RNY.

In SSF that would mean that you are the sixth person in line. I would suspect you will be hearing around the first part to middle of August with a date (maybe sooner). They will send you some appointments for a pre-op class and to meet with your anesthesiologist. You will have to get some blood work done if the original ones are more than 6 months old. Within a week of surgery you will have to go to SSF for a blood cross match test. You cannot get that done up here and it cannot be done sooner. Then it's off to surgery. If you are going to one of the other facilities, it's probably close to the same thing but I don't know for sure.
