Question:
This is regarding the Protein supplement that is 25g per sip. Where can I find it?

I have been using Isopure but cannot stand it. Have also tried unjury, can't stand it, I need help before I go bankrupt buying different products. Thanks    — Michele65 (posted on February 18, 2008)

I have had the same problem. I have now given up on all protein supplements. I am drinking 24 oz of skim milk a day and that gives me half the protein that my doctor wants me to have. Good Luck!

EAS makes a 25gm protein drink premixed called Myoplex. They also make a powder (which I buy at Costco) which is very well priced, tastes good and has 27gms protein per serving - available in vanilla and chocolate. I too have hated most other products.

I don't know anything about a 25g per sip liquid supplement. I do however know of a protein capsule called "Capsul-Pro." You can get it at www.nashuanutrition.com Since it's in a capsule, you don't have to worry about taste issues, and it doesn't make you feel bloated... Good luck!

I haven't heard of a 25g per sip protein. But I don't think I would go with the Pro-Caps that were just suggested. 3 - 1000 mg capsules only give you 11 grams of Protein. You would need to take 25 capsules throughout the day to get the 90 grams of Protein my surgeon wants me to get in a day. That's a lot of pills! But ... that's just my view. I also have had a lot of trouble finding a protein powder that I can tolerate the taste of ... and yes, I have a LOT of unused powders just sitting around. They tasted just fine before surgery. Hopefully they'll taste good again someday. I would just say keep trying. Try to find a source where you can get samples ... www.vitalady.com is one. Best of luck to you and welcome to the loser's bench! Cindy

Any of these are what I use: 1.) Champion ProScore 100 choco + 8 oz water + ice, blended (hand blender or Magic Bullet). 2.) Champion Pure Whey Stack choco + 6-8 oz water, shaken. 3.) IDS vanilla-cinnamon + "glop" of DaVinci sugar free caramel sauce + 8 oz water + ice, blended. 4.) the PWS chco + the van-cin (50/50) in about 10 oz hot water, stirred or hand blender. They deliver 30g protein, less than 3g sugar, less than 200 calories, when made with water. Lately I've been adding a shake of cinnamon to my hot ones since cinnamon fights belly fat. I always put 1 scoop of UpCal D powder in (500mg calcium citrate, 250 IU of vit D3).

Never heard of it...but I use a soy isolate/whey mix....Like you I could not get Pure Whey protein down to save my life! YUCK! The soy/whey mix adds a nicer and easier feeling on my pouch and is lactose free! Pure Whey Protein makes me dump. (Even 4 year post op!) I get mine at Costco in Vanilla and even use it to sweeten plain oatmeal with a dry scoop and a little soy milk. I never thought I'd find a drink I liked and after 4 years of wasting a ton of money on so many kinds. This is the only one I absolutely love. Tastes like a milk shake but not as sweet. I tried the Isopure clear bottles and they were the only ones I could somewhat stomach, but had to sip on those slowly and the cost was obscene! It's by EAS ...Premium Protein (Stage 3 Blend) with 27g Protein which I mix with soy to add another 7g...(34g per drink) If you don't have Costco...see if you can order it online. The link below tells you about it and a pic of the product if you think you might want to try it...It's $30 a bag. http://www.costcoconnection.com/connection/200706/?pg=41

I agree! It is hard to spend all of this money on the protein shake and then you can't choke them down. I started drinking more milk and what I have found in the protein drinks is when there is a little less protein, like the low carb lifestyle slim-fasts (20 grams), I can stomach them better. I also use Any Whey Protein powder- tasteless- that I bought at the local nutrition store. It smells funky but tastes OK. Good Luck. I took the extra unused protein stuff to my surgeons and the nurse gave them as samples to other per-surgery folk. Good Luck!

I had problems at first with any flavored protein powders too. I now drink the body fortress and mix it with water not milk and it is very tolerable. (You can buy this at walmart, and most grocery stores). I also buy when I can afford it, Anywhey tasteless protein powder at GNC. They also now carry a Designer whey that comes in a few flavors. I fell in love with the pomegranite one. Just hang in there it does get better! Good luck and God bless!

Michelle - have you checked out www.chike.com?? They were offering FREE samples of their 5 different protein shakes, banana, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla & orange cream. I enjoyed my samples & wish i could afford them. They can be pricy, but in my opinion were VERY yummy. Have you cheecked out your local GNC? Sometimes they have the Pure Protein bars that have 25-28 grams of protein per bar. I have recently had the chocolate peanut butter and the blueberry crumb. I prefer the chocolate peanut butter, but i got them for an awsome price - 2 or 3 for a dollar - yes just a dollar. They were going out of date so they clearanced them. That may also be another alternative for you, checking out the clearance at GNC.com or at a local store. Have you checked out the protein count on canned tuna? That may be another option for you. I know we all have our preferences for protein, i wish you all the luck in finding what works best for you.

Have you tried Designer Whey, Chocolate? That is the only protein powder drink my pouch will tolerate. I did today get the ISOPURE Zero Carb/Grape Frost protein drink. It is not that bad. The 20 oz bottle has 40 proteins and I don't feel like I have to chase it with another drink like the protein powders. I hope this helps. Laura

Yes, I had the same problem. I got Nectar (Fuzzy Navel flavor). I mix it with water and a To Go packet of Crystal Light lemonade. Delicious! Tastes like orange juice. Good luck! Pat

I haven't heard of anything giving 25g/sip. And I also have had problems getting used to many powders/drinks. But at Walmart I tried "Pure Protein" bars having 18/19/20g of protein and they don't taste too bad. I only consume them when I've gotten tired of natural protein foods such as canned fish, ham, salmon, etc. the bars are close enough to a candy bar you can fool yourself. And Walmart also has a 1lb cannister of "Genisoy Soy Protein Powder" with no flavor. So I add it to my milk, coffee and sprinkle it over cereals & fruit. You too may find them palatable.
