why is their diffrent sizes in the lapband?
why is their diffrent sizes in the lapband? im trying to have the lapband surgery but i did not no their is a size diffrence in it.please explain — sunrise78 (posted on July 31, 2009)

Great question..I was looking for answers too. I have had the band for 1
1/2 yrs. My dr decides when he goes in to insert the lapband. I think they
try to find the best fit for the size of your stomach. LIke you wearing a
size 6 or wearing a size 20 :)

Very good question! The easy answer is that there are different sizes of
stomachs. Some are thicker than others and require a larger band to
prevent being too tight. Your doctor will select the correct size for you
while doing your surgery and viewing your stomach under Fluroscope.
