Lap Band Surgery - Average weight loss timetable

Does anyone know the average weight loss for lap band and the timeable for losing weight? Any lap band cost comparisons would be helpful too. Is it cheaper anywhere special? Thanks!    — S. Troxell (posted on April 6, 2006)

Hey Sherry. Your question is a complex one. Meaningful weight loss with the Band doesn't really start until one reaches restriction, and that could take anywhere from one fill to .. well .. never. :) The spoken average is three fills, but the problem with THAT is the fact that how often you need fills is completely individual. So a timetable for Banding loss is even more impossible to chart than loss with other procedures. It's too individual. Basically, there is no way to compare one person's loss with another's. Be careful not to fall into that trap. Cost, now, that's different .. but I don't really have the numbers you need. Someone at the Band forum might .. I second that suggestion from up above. :)

Hi there, I have been doing some research on the lapband and I found a sight in my home state of Washington, try looking at Northwest weight loss surgery or Northwest Lap Band surgery-same sight but there is SOOOO much information, its a great sight with helpful info and testimonials. Good luck, I am trying to get the lap band myself.
