One place you can get the bullet protein drinks is at bariatriceating.com. Also, most health food stores or The Vitamin Store will have whey protein which is a very good source -- each serving usually has around 20 g of protein or more. I have two servings of ON Whey double chocolate protein drink, each mixed with 8 oz of nonfat milk and each serving is 30 g. That way I know I'm gettingat least my 60 g per day of protein. Bariatriceating.com and some stores also have sample packs of protein powder so you can try it without spending so much for something you don't like. I hope this helps.

you can get new whey protein at physicaladdictions.com, GNC, or some health food stores. it is a little over 3oz has 42 gms of protein. I like the fruit punch flavor, but even when I have tried the other flavors it is one swallow (I take 1/2 at a time) and it is over. I love 'em

Hello, I am 2 wks. post op today from lap rny. I used the pre mixed EAS shakes and they tasted like the yohoo choc drink. You can buy them at the grocery store. They are with the slim fast stuff in your grocers area. I bought the choc. and strawberry for a change. Drinking these over ice ssssllllloooowwwllly sipping I did great. I did try to use up other stuff from a kit that I ordered. If I did not like it I took it anyway since I had bought it but I held my nose as I sipped so I would not taste it. Hope that helps. It will get better.Michele

Try a lactose free protein powder...You might be having problems with Whey and not all protein drinks. Cyto sport makes Muscle milk (lactose free) and that stuff tastes like cake batter...it is sooo good. I also use EAS Whey and Soy Isolate blend of COMPLETE protein and it is so far the most tolerable protein I can handle (even over the muscle milk which tastes better) You might try taking a probiotic (which I use) or lactaid tablet before drinking your protein drink and see if that helps...I'm 4 1/2 years PO and still drink a protein drink daily because I can't eat all my protein in a day without supplementation. When I first had surgery the only thing I could tolerate was No Carb Isopure (Clear why protein drink) They are expensive, but it was the best I could do to help myself heal. I knew that I had to spend the money to do this until I could eat more protein...Along the way I have learned the little tricks...Whey still makes me painfully ill... but I can handle protein bars for some reason...(Most of the time if they are low carb) Good luck...It took me 4 years to find a protein drink that I could afford to drink daily...I didn't know that I was lactose intolerant right away since I hate milk and cheese doesn't bother me....or that whey was full of lactose!

I can find the protein bullets in either the 25 gms or 42 gms at Smoothie King and the Vitamin Shoppe. Bariatriceating.com just had a sale on them as well and I stocked up on them. Snack &Slim Pudding is 20 gms of protein each and very low carb.... and delicious. You can get Instone protein pudding at Smoothie King as well. Protein is not optional, you need to find a way to get it in. Some nausea is normal for a while after surgery... your doctor can prescribe something for it. Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC

Natalie - although this product is NOT a bullet, i found it to be tasty - they are 20 oz protein drinks, have 40 grams of protein each bottle, no carbs, no fat, they are Isopure - I buy them buy the case. They come in a variety of flavors, peach mango, sour apple, grape, and a few others. They can be found at GNC. Best wishes in finding the right protein drinks! You can also check out Chike.com - they used to have FREE SAMPLES!! you can inquire about that!

I never could tolerate milk. To me, it tastes awful, as do the protein powders that you mix with milk and other things. I read about the whey protein bullets and they are delicious! Every morning, I just mix one into a bottle of water and I drink it throughout the morning. Tastes kind of like liquid jello. My favorites are the blue raspberry and orange. The fruit punch is a little too sweet for my taste. They are a little costly, but when you consider the amount of food you're not eating and the $ savings there, it makes it easier to justify the cost, and you know it's for your health anyway. The website I use is www.bariatriceating.com and just search for the new whey protein bullets. They're 12 to a box and there is a slight savings if you order three boxes (36 days' worth). They're 42 grams of protein per vial (or bullet). Three boxes for $99 plus shipping and handling. Good luck!

I too have trouble tolerating the protein supplements. I had my lap RNY on May 12 and they are still very heavy on my system. I use the New Whey 42g bullets and they taste horrible! But they are only 3 oz that pack a punch. I take a mouthful and then immediately have some crystal light to wash it down. It fills me up so fast and so much it takes 45 minutes or more to finish the 3 oz. Slim Fast low carb is working a little better for me now and it was not a couple of weeks ago. So there is some improvement. Protein is just heavy and filling in the pouch so try to find the highest protein source in the least amount of liquid and get it over early in the day. I try to do the bullet before lunch and a slim fast after. By mid afternoon I have had 62g protein which is my minimum daily intake at 4 wks out. Hope this helps. By the way, I got my bullets at Vitamin Shoppe online because it was free shipping and they was a coupon that I googled so I wound up paying just under $25 for a case of 12. At local retailers they tend to run from $2.95 to $3.95 each. I have heard the blue raspberry is pretty good but what I have had so far is nasty, thick and sticks to your mouth like a syrup. But, we have to do it!!!!! Good luck!

Keep trying, and you'll find something you can tolerate. I do best with GNC 50 gram slam (50 grams in 15 ounces). I only drink the Milk Chocolate - and only over ice. Make sure when you find one that you drink slowly. Drinking too fast can make you feel sick. Kris

I use the bullets (New Whey) the grape tastes like a sour grape flavor and is kind of think but I can't handle the Isopure UCK also look at vitalady.com and she has the nectar proteins the roadside lemonade is pretty good and so are some of the lean dessert ones you can order samples so you aren't stuck with a bunch of it. The banana ones don'e have much flavor though. The chocolate coconut candy bar really does taste like chocolate and coconut good for a sweet craving!
