Question:
I have lost 130 pounds and started taking birth control pills.

Within two weeks I have gained 8 pounds! It is making me crazy. Has anyone else experienced weight gain with birth control pills and what did you do about it? Thanks!    — Kristi S. (posted on September 19, 2007)

i did the opposite i stopped after several years and i gained 7-8 lbs

I started taking birth control pills 3 months out, and continue to lose. But then again I never gained while on the pill before wls either. Go back to yr obgyn and see if there are other pills that won't make you gain? It may be time to try a different brand. Good luck and God Bless!

Have you ask your Ob-Gyn about the shots? My daughter used those and really liked them because of weight gain with the pills. Judy

Yes, it is a known fact that many birth control pills will make you gain weight. When I went off mine years ago, I lost 20 pounds in just a few short months.
