Question:
I am a sleever since Dec. 29th,'09 and i am just wondering why my surgeon told me

that I had a 6 month window to really work my surgery...also I vomit alot and will I always feel that hurt in my throat when I eat too fast or too much? Or does that feeling lessen with time? Will I ever get back to normal digestive health again?    — Joyousjillian (posted on March 14, 2010)

I had RNY Aug 2009 and my surgeon said almost the same thing. We have a honeymoon of rapid weightloss before our systems begin adjusting. Most people still loose weight but much slower and you have to be careful about what and how much you take in. In the beginning, I could only eat about 2 ounces at a meal and now I can eat about 6-8 ounces. I can eat a wide variety of foods (almost anything that is balanced) with no ill affects. I still get sick when I eat too fast. I do eat faster than at first but I still need to eat slowly or it will come straight back up. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I had the sleeve on December 29th, 2009 as well!!! I had not heard that about the 6 month window, makes me want to dig in a focus even more. I have lost about 47 lbs but wish it was more! I am so bad about drinking water and must get better! I aso have not been working out, gonna get on that too.

You sound like you are speaking for me. I had rny surgery on Dec 21, 2009 and I have lost 45 lbs., I guess we are doing good. I asked a friend who also had surgery and she said that I am doing good and I dont want to loose weight faster becuase it will help my skin to recover. I also experience difficulty in drinking water and I too am the vomit queen, I guess I am just going to have to learn to eat slower and chew more often, it is weird one day I will find a food my body will like and when I try it again, I find myself vomiting again, it is weird.
