I had BC/BS PPO and did not get anything back. Paid that out of my medical spending account.

Subit your bill to your insurance company....that is the only way you will know for sure.

You will be reimbursed as long as it is a covered benefit under your plan and if the Dr is/was BCBS contracted. PLEASE next time...since you DO have an EPO go to a BCBS network Dr and don't pay up front. It can get messy. The insurance should reimburse you for their contracted rate, but not the entire amount. The rest will have to be reimbursed by the Dr....that's the tricky part. Some are willing some are not. The Dr knows that the insurance will only pay him a set amount of $ for a certain service. By you paying him cash-you paid him more than he'd get from the insurance. Technically he's supposed to give it back report him to the insurance company if he doesn't.
