Question:
Having trouble laying down flat. Pressure in stomach - have to sleep in a recliner.

Hi all - I had lap band surgery this past Tuesday and overall am doing great. I'm able to eat and drink, although I'm not hungry. I've been walking a lot and am feeling great overall with the exception of laying down in bed. I feel a great amount of pressure in my belly and it's really uncomfortable so I end up sleeping in our living room in a recliner. Just wondering if other people have experienced this as well and if it is pretty normal and will pass. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.    — Lisa B. Hi, It is very normal as you stretch the healing tissue when you lie flat. I was able to sleep in bed on my side with knees drawn up on the 5th post op day and could comfortably lie flat by about day 10. As in everything else, this will vary from person to person but you will hopefully be getting more comfortable soon. Keep up the walking, it sounds like you are doing great!!! Kevin
