Question:
has anyone had RNY surgery in Mexico?

my insurance will not pay anything on my wls, so I will have to have my RNY done in Mexico and I am kinda nervous. The facilitaor helping me is very nice. I just hope I leave there with complete constructions on what to eat, what vitamin to take ect. my regular doctor agreed to do the after care, but admits she doesn't know alot about it.    — Lisa L. I had surgery in Tijuana with Dr. Kuri. The BEST! Beautiful hospital; english speaking nurses, beautiful hotel, all taken care of by Kuri's office. Total Cost (including free fills for life) $9,000

I would be nervous about it too. One thing my surgeon said was that if you have problems with your surgery you want to be able to get hold of your surgeon. He said that normal docs don't know the complications that can occur with the WLS. One thing he told us was that if you have severe stomach pains to go directly to the ER and have the surgeon called. It could be intestinal twisting or other problems related to surgery that the doc wouldn't know to look for. If you go to Mexico, make sure you have a doc experienced with bariatric surgery that can see you in an emergency. Don't risk your life by not having a doc in the states.

I had my surgery in Torreon Mexico by Dr. Daniel Campos. The experience was extremely supportive. I have never experienced anything like it. Hotel, flight, transfers from airport, care pre and post op was incredible. Very professional and extremely supportive. They know what they are doing and your doc here in Canada can provide follow up. Good luck.
