Slip on shoes, lip balm, a small personal fan if your prone to being hot, a
pillow to hold against the tummy for the ride home...

Don't forget loose clothing for the ride home. I wore sweat pants in a size
larger with a draw string so I could adjust them to my comfort level. Best

I'm 3 weeks out and freaking! I feel overwhelmed that everything needs to
be done and perfect with the house, etc. Will someone tell me to take a
chill pill? Good luck to you......next week you will be past this part!

THE BIGGEST TWO THINGS, REMEMBER IT IS TEMPORARY PAIN WHEN YOU COME OUT...
IT REALLY HELPS MENTALLY. ALSO BRING A TOOTHBRUSH. YOU WILL WANT IT. THE
MOUTH GETS SO GUMMY AND DRY. EVERYDAY, THE HEALING PROCESS IMPROVES
GREATLY AND THE PAIN DECREASES DRAMATICALLY ON EVERY DAY OF RECOVERY....
"TEMPORARY" AND REMEMBER WHY YOU CHOSE THIS. ( I WAS RUNNING
AROUND ON DAY FOUR BACK AT HOME AND SLEEPING ON MY TUMMY THEN TOO.) GOOD

I am seven weeks out and stayed with my parents the first week home, but
did not need to. I would have a little table next to your chair that you
will be using. Put the phone and the tv and vcr remote on it, make sure
you have some movies if you are worried about all the food commericials on,
and whatever you might like to do during the day. I was like the last
poster I was up and out on my third day home and sleeping on my
side/stomach shortly after that. Good luck.

I'm right with you all too...my surgery is scheduled for a bit sooner,
though...its scheduled for April 25th, this Friday. A lot of great
suggestions on this message board, which will help me immensly to prepare
for my surgery. Good luck to everyone who is having their surgery within a
week of mine...e-mail me at [email protected] if you want to
afterwards!
