Hi. I am 5'1 and was 220lbs at the time of RNY. I have lost 80 lbs and definitely need a tummy tuck. I also had 3 kids( 2 of them are twins). That attribute a lot to the way my stomach looks now.Good luck.

I am 5'2" and started out at 230. I now weigh 130. I don't really "need" any reconstructive surgery but I sure WISH my tummy and breasts were tighter. My panni doesn't hang but is a little like a deflated ball. I have had one li'l angel and the only places I am saggy are the ones stretched in pregnancy. My thighs are not firm but not gross and I don't have "batwings." I wouldn't go under the knife again just for a TT but I might think about combining it with tying my tubes or something like that. I have seen a dr that did some good work in my area (DEFINITELY see some afters for the surgeon. I have seen a lot of results that I wouldn't have been happy with.) Hope this helps!

Katie - I weighed 230 and was 5'0 the day of my surgery (08/28/01). I am now (22 days short of 1 year) 4'11" (yes, I shrunk in height) and weigh 133. I started with a 44DD bra size and now in a 36/34C (I love wearing sports bras now) and my boobs deflated. (My DH calls them "rocks in socks".) As for having plastics, since I have an incisional hernia, I'll get that removed and have a TT done at the same time. If I did not have the hernia, I would just live with what I have and use lycra pants (girdle-types) and that works out wonderfully. If I were to have breast augmentation, I'll probably end up in a size B cup, so I'm going to just live with that also. It's a nice change to be without boobs since I was practically born with boobs. I have not had any children (unable to conceive) so my stretch marks are strictly the result of my weight. I hope this helps. Good luck on your journey. (60" distal open RNY 08/28/01 -97 lbs gone forever!!)

What are you my twin or something ! (smile) I am 5'2" and was exactly 230 when i went into surgery. I am an apple in shape, which means i am big around the middle. I will need a tummy tuck. I can live with my arms and inner thighs. I had surgery on May 6, 2002 and have been wearing my binder since I came out of surgery except for bed time to flatten my stomach and it has really done just that, but it makes the extra skin hag down further. That's fine though because I understand that the further you panni hangs, the better your chances of getting your insurance to pay for the surgery.

Everyone is different. I am 4'11" and weighed 235. I have lost 70 lbs since April 5th and only my arms have some excess skin. My stomach is quite flat. I won't need a tummy tuck at all. I will need to do some exercises for the arms tho. So you'll have to wait to see once you lose the weight. Good luck
