Question:
Has anyone out there had any dealings with Horizion BCBS of New Jersey?

Hi, I have Horizon also and had my surgery on 2/9/09; I was approved within 2 days of my doctor's office submitting the paperwork

They required a psychiatric and nutritional eval and a 6 month medically supervised diet. I called them 3 days after my paperwork was submited and was told I was denied because they said they did not have proof of a medically supervised diet. They did have this information and I faxed it to them again and appealled it and got approved. If I had not called them and kept on top of it it would have taken me weeks to get the letters in the mail so my advice is keep calling BC to check on your status and if your physicians office is dealing with them ask them to call BC to have them fax the letters because it takes weeks by snail mail.
