Question:
Im thinking about revision due to regaining weight Post Op 4yrs

I had my surgery april 05 but I have started regaining some of my weight back. I am so disgusted and starting to feel depressed because of the weight gain. I wonder what are the stipulations on the revision to the "D" switch?    — tharrell2006 (posted on June 7, 2009)

The stipulations are likely different with each insurance company when weight loss surgery is a covered benefit. That said, I've read in various blogs that a revision is sometimes covered due to the previous surgery failure, as in a mechanical failure like a stretched stoma, band erosion, etc. You should check out the revision forum for more information. Also there is a back on track forum here on the boards too. I wish you the best in getting a handle on your situation.

Hi! Just looking into the same thing. I am 7 yrs. out and am gaining. The insurance for me requires the same as before. All the previous tests,co-morbidities etc. Almost everything I went thru the 1st time. I have blue cross/BS I have already applied to the insurance for the revision and have already gone thru alot of the tests but still am waiting for more news from BC/BS. Good luck to both of us...IT WILL BE WORTH IT! Hang in there...
