I am Tricare Prime and I just got approved bu Tricare for a consult with a PS 2 weeks ago. I was my PS last week and he felt like I can really benefit from the surgery and the fact that I have rashes helps my case as well. He had an assisstant take many pictures and then he sent iff the request to do the abdominalplasty the end of last week. He is hoping they say yes and he wants to get me in and done in the next month or tow. But if they say no, I will just continue to document all my rashes and then try again in another 6 months. But abdominalplasty and possibly breast reductions are all that I am aware of that Tricare Prime MAY pay for.

Hello Julie, Everyone that I know that has Tricare Prime and has had WLS has at least been approved a tummy tuck. I was actually in the process of having my referral submitted when I found out that I was pregnant so I will have to wait a bit before having mine done. First thing is first, get a consult from you PCM for a network PS. I hope this helps. Tiffany

I am tricare prime, living in Europe and I have a consult w/ a ps on Friday (WISH ME LUCK!) I have been told by tricare that the are approving tt pretty much across the board for WLS patients.....I am also trying for a breast lift but the rep didn't sound too positive about getting approved for that one. From what I have been told, tricare will pay for anything as long as there is a need. A friend of mine had really bad rashes on her arms and they did her arms as well? if you'll email me personally so I have your address, I'll let you know how my appt goes and the outcome :)

Hi Julie....my name is Julie S and I live in SC. We too have Tricare Prime and my hubby is AD. Tricare paid for my TT/hernia repair this past May with no problems. I have a friend close by that did not have a hernia and hers was also paid for along with that she was approved to have a thigh lift. I have also heard of others that have been approved for a breast lift which I will be persuing soon. The worst that can happen is they deny it. All you have to do is go to your PCM and plead your case and they will put you in for a referral...just like for the gastric bypass. Email me if you would like to ask me more questions. Good luck.... Julie S.

have to agree with everyone else on the TT; out at Fort Hood they will often do a breast reduction/reconstruction as well
