I have medicare part a and part b

Yes, I had my lapband surgery done through Dr. John Morton at Stanford
Hospital in California.

Yes I has RYN July 16th
call medicare explain what you want done. They may tell you all u need to
do is find a doctor that does it. no loop holes.
no 6 month dieting etc. call to see what they expect of you. Seallte

I do and I had lap RNY 2 yrs ago. They cover 80% of the surgery and you
don;t neep pre-aproval. They just require that it has to be done at a
certified center of excellence. Good luck!!!

YES I HAD MEDICARE AND I WAS COVERED BUT I HAD TO PAY MY COPAY UP FRONT.

I had Lap RNY in March 2008. I have Medicare and TriCare4Life. Between
both my entire surgery was covered. Medicare does require that you have a
BMI of at least 35 with at least one co-morbidity such as diabetes, HBP,
etc. I'm not sure if they will cover if you just have a higher BMI of 40
or above without a co-morbidity.

i have Meidcare and they covered it, i had RNY done last Nov. and
everything was covered. I would give them a call just to double check. Good

Yes I have the same insurance....started the whole process in Nov 06 and
just had my surgery in Aug of 08...long process and had to fight all the
way...but don't give up or let them tell you it is not covered
