I received a weeks supply and instructed to take it every 6 hours. I took it for the first 4 days then only at night to help me sleep for the next 3. I still have some left but do not use it now. I had my procedure 10/17/08.

I have Percocet and take it every 6 hours, sometimes 2 at a time. My surgery was on 10-31-08. I was suprised how much it hurt the next day! :( But the pain definately has decreased... I thought the 2nd day was never going to end!!!

They gave the RX before the surgery, so I would have it on hand after surgery and I haven't opened the bottle. I never did take it, the pain was tolerable. I had lap band 4-16-08 and I am down 65 pounds and lots and lots of inches. Good Luck. Diane

I believe that Lortab elixir is the best medication and it does not affect your new pouch like the other meds. I now take Ultram er as it is enteric coated adn does not upset my pouch. My pouch is sensitive and this is the only pain med that I can take. Good Luck! Lori in Michigan

In the hospital I was put on lortab and morphine... until I had an allergic reaction. They switched me to tylenol+hydrocodone and gave me a prescription for it. It kept me knocked out more than I liked, so I decided to skip having it filled and get some liquid tylenol instead. Used that for a couple of days (until about 5 days post-op) and have only needed it once since then.

I had an allergic reaction to Lortab (Vicodin) so survived on liquid Tylenol which was hard but possible for the first week or so.
