Question:
I feel normal, but am I?

I'm 1 month and 3 weeks post-op. I thought my healing process was normal, so I began to do the thing I use to such as; trying to eat the same foods (chips, fries, etc.) Afterwards I get extremely sick(vomiting). I feel as if I'm torturing myself. My old problems are still my problems (cravings)but I cant have anything. This happens maybe once every two weeks(since March) Help! Im loving my new look, but my past haunts me. What should I do. (Crystal)    — Pretty-in-Pink (posted on April 16, 2009)

Take heart. Call your doctor and level with them. Get psychotherapy help. You do not need to suffer, you need to get help. you were worth the surgery, right? You are well worth the psychological help. Don'tthink about it or weigh the pros and cons. Just do it. You'll never regret it. See you on the bright side.

My Dr told me once I had the surgery My body was not going to be able to handle the same eating habits as before, you need to STOP eating junk food ( fried, to oily stuff, sweet) This is our second change and we need to take advanage of it by eating healthy. Good Luck

Call and get a therapists name that can help you deal with this. The weight loss center I go to has a counselor, whom I see, but I also am seeing someone else for other issues of the past that have come up. Don't sabotage your work so far. Your brain is part of your body, and if it needs help in this process, don't be embarassed to get it. If you have an EAP at work, go through that. Many of them have 5 or 6 free sessions and have names of therapists that deal with whatever issue you are going through. That is what I am doing. That way, you can see if you "click" with someone before dishing out money. If you don't, you call the EAP back and they give you the name of someone else to try. Good luck. You can do this - You are worth it!

Hi Crystal, Do you have a NUT? Didnt the NUT> and/or DR go over ALL the things you are NOT to eat? I had surg last july 1st and use my sugar free Fudgesicles for my treat. There are MANY sugar free treats to use. I have been told that the turkey-pepperoni put on a layer of paper towel with a paper towel to cover in the micro will become crisp and may be eaten like chips or used to dip in pizza sauce & cheese. I can not tolerate ANY fats, oils nor sugars (I have found this out with even the slightes amount)so I am always looking for good healthy things to try.
