Question:
does anyone not have a spleen? What kind of complications did you have?

Hi Donna, my spleen was accidentally ruptured & removed during a surgical procedure 15 yrs ago. I have had no complications relating to the splenectomy since, nor any related to my VSG 15 mos ago. I do however have a pneumococcal injection every 5 yrs to ensure that I do stay healthy & am able to fight off infections. Don't know if this helps you, but this is my experience. Judy

I lost my spleen 4 years ago, and have not had any problems without it. I've heard that it's more of a problem for kids who haven't built up immunities yet.
