Welcome to the Loser's Bench!!! You'll just have to get used to the gas - I am over 2 years out & it hasn't improved!

Hi, I am just days out and my hubby gave me Mylanta and then I rolled from side to side slowly and it seemed to help a great deal. Hope this helps. Kim

Gas is one of those things that may never get better. I am 6 months out and have gas almost every day. Gas X helps me as far as the uncomfortable pressure, but it never completely gets rid of it. As matter of fact, today it sounds like a thunderstorm going on in my stomach...the gas is awful! Good luck on your journey and Congratulations on your new life!

I am almost 5 years out and believe me the gas problem never goes away or at least it hasn't with me one person said it sounded like a thundestorm in her stomach with me it sounds like a thunderstorm when it comes out lol. I have just learned to live with it and go on about my business the words "excuse me" has been a very important part of my vocabulary.

Hi. I'm two weeks out from my surgery and I found two things that really helped me. One is Gas-X. There is a cherry creme type that is very smooth and not chalky. That helped a lot. The second thing that helped was getting a thinner protein drink that I mixed in my water bottle. That way I could get my protein without having to drink the thick stuff. It digested easier and caused less gas. Using that allowed my stomach to heal a little and I haven't had problems since. Here is a link to the liq I use http://www.bariatricchoice.com/protidiet-bariatric-protein-drink-concentrates.html It comes in lots of flavors and tastes just like Crystal Light. Good luck

I take a gas x after meals and I found right after it started which was few days after surgery and lasted a week a warm pak on tummy helped a lot! I am 6 weeks out and gas improved with drinking but if I don't take the gas x after meals it is so uncomfortable. Walking after eating helps as well. Make sure you are having adequate bowel movements as well.

My RNY was August of 08.... still have gas bad enough to clear a room if I don't take my med... I discovered DEVROM about 4 months out and I think it has saved my family as much as me. I chew 2 before every meal and it has made a huge difference. I still have gas but there is no smell. I take chewable gas x when the gas causes cramps or anything like that but I will never run out of the DEVROM. I get no kick backs from the product but I recommend it to everyone. www.devrom.com
