Question:
HELP!!!! My ins. just asked for more weight history, from 2005,2006.

I know my BMI was slightly below 40 in 05'&06', it no longer is. I am pretrified that they are going to deny!!! As of today it still pending... I have Aetna Choice POSII are they hard to get approval with? Please keep your fingers crossed!    — twinsplusone (posted on September 11, 2008)

No one was fat all their life. They want to see your trend, since it was up, it is in your favor. Get them the information from doctors when you got weighed or have the doctor submit the date and tell them he was unable to weight you because of scale limits. Any source where you got weighted by a third party that documented will do like weight watchers, or Jenny Creig. Best of success to you.

My insurance co. asked for my weight history for 5 years. I contacted my current family doctor and previous family doctor and they wrote a simple note on their letterhead givign my recorded weight for 5 years. My weight was lower then than it was right before surgery, but still significantly overweight. Don't worry about it, it's just something they want to see.

You can also see if they will accept pictures from '05 & 06. My insurance did and I turned in a photo of me from '05 and now I am approved. Good luck!

I too have Aetna here in KY. If you went to the doctor at all during that timeframe just get those records and them. Even if you were not 40 or over in bmi, you were most likely in your 30s. Bad as it sounds, the comorbidities help so if you had high blood pressure or chloresterol or anything else going on it will be in those records and they will take that in consideration as well. Best of luck.
