Question:
Can I take liquid vitamins immediately post-op?

I will be on clear liquids for 2 weeks post op. Can I use liquid multivitamin and calcium (citrate)+ D + magnesium supplements during this phase, or is it best to start with the children's chewables?    — Joni S. (posted on February 23, 2003)

Depends on what your doctor instructs you to do. Mine wanted you to wait until after your first post-op appt, which is anywhere from 8-10 days afterwards. I started with chewable flintstones and everything else in pill form and haven't had any problems yet. I did try liquid of some things first and they made me gag so I had to run out and buy pills instead. Good Luck!
